Men’s Golf concludes season, Knowles finishes ninth overall in National Championship

The #21 ranked UNF Men’s Golf team finished twenty-eighth overall in the NCAA Championship Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Although the team’s season was over, Junior Phillip Knowles advanced to compete individually, by shooting four under par and finished ninth overall.

Three members of the golf team earned PING All-Region honors including Phillip Knowles, Andrew Alligood and Travis Trace.

Knowles was a first-team All-ASUN selection this season and led the Ospreys with a 71.34 stroke average and 16 rounds under par. He also topped the team with eight Top 10 finishes and five tournaments under-par.

Alligood earned first-team All-ASUN honors along with recording three runner-up tournament medalist performances. He also ranked second on the team with a 71.43 average along with 15 rounds under par.

Trace garnered second-team All-ASUN recognition while ranking third on the team with a 72.06 average. He earned his first career medalist title by winning the NCAA Norman (Okla.) Regional.

The Golf Team had another remarkable season, reaching the National Championships for the fifth time in school history, winning their twenty-fifth ASUN Championship in D1 history, ranking in the top 25 nationwide and having a golfer finish in the top 10 at the National Championships.

Four of the five golfers will return for the Ospreys next season as they prepare for next season.
