Unsolidified parking in Garage 44A leaves some students disoriented

Pain and aggravation: two words normally associated with campus parking for students who try to wrangle their cars around campus. As if parking wasn’t confusing enough at the start of the fall semester, the shifting designation of certain floors in Garage 44A has left some students confused as to why previously available floors are now blocked off.

For those wondering about why floors three and four of Garage 44A are in flux, just know the pain is only temporary.

According to Parking Services, the first three floors of 44A are currently restricted to Housing A permit holders only. The fourth floor, however, is still accessible through the Fine Arts parking garage.

The first and second floors have reportedly always been for Housing A permit holders. Meanwhile, the third and fourth floors are connected directly to the Fine Arts Garage and have the capability of being flipped back and forth between Housing A parking and Blue parking. Depending on what is deemed necessary, the floors themselves may even be divided at times.

Parking Services told the Spinnaker that the designation of the top floors in Garage 44A will be finalized after the add/drop period when they know exactly how much space needs to be reserved for Housing A students.
