UNF civil engineering professor to receive Distinguished Professor Award

UNF civil engineering professor Adel ElSafty will receive the Distinguished Professor Award during the 47th Annual Fall Convocation ceremony on Friday, Sept. 7.

He was first recognized for the award back in May of 2018. ElSafty’s reaction to being recognized for the award and his past achievements can be found here.

“Dr. ElSafty exemplifies what we mean at UNF by the term ‘distinguished professor.’ He’s an international scholar and dedicated teacher committed to the education of his students and is no less generous with his time in serving the University community,” Interim Provost and Vice President Pam Chally said.

Previous to this award, ElSafty has been recognized as the PCI Educator of the Year, Fulbright U.S. Scholar, Fulbright Specialist, and has been awarded the International Scholarship and Journal Paper Award, Florida Prestressed Concrete Association Education Foundation Award, Outstanding Faculty Scholarship Award and Outstanding International Leadership Award.
