Gators dominate Ospreys with red hot offense

Despite keeping it close early in the first half, the Gators busted the game wide open with a heavy dose of open shots which led them to a 98-66 win.

In the first half, the Ospreys were battling with the Gators early, only down 14-13 at one point in the half.  Redshirt-Junior J.T. Escobar fired the first three for the Ospreys and finished the first half with 11 points and three triples. The Ospreys committed 10 turnovers in the first half, allowing the Gators to capitalize. The Gators utilized their interior presence by outrebounding UNF, 22-9. At the end of the half, the Gators were leading, 53-33.

The Gators had all the momentum in the second half, nailing open three point shots with fast ball movement, finishing the game shooting 56 percent as a team. Freshman Noah Locke led the Gators in scoring with 18 points and shot 7-11 from the field. Four other Gators finished the game scoring in double digits.

Junior Noah Horchler recorded a double-double, scoring 16 and grabbing 10 boards for the Ospreys. Junior Ivan Gandia-Rosa scored 13 and dished out four assists.

The Ospreys return home to UNF Arena to take on FAMU on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m.
