Here’s a handful of activities to check out around town now that those high-temperature beach days are in hibernation. The whimsical and holiday-themed months of entertainment and festivities are happening now.

Jax Illuminations

This illuminating drive-thru light show is enjoyed from the coziness of your own vehicle. Friends and family members can load up their cars to share the experience together. Individuals are encouraged to bring cocoa to sip on as they cruise through a lit pathway of lights. Admission is per vehicle, so be sure to fill all the seats in your car to get the most bang for your buck. This seasonal event is up and running and will be open until Jan 4. WinterFEST | Adventure Landing

Winterfest at Adventure Landing brings the snow to Jacksonville for wintertime.  Every night there’s a snowfall for all to experience the cool breeze nipping at their nose. The fest also offers other activities such as ice skating, 130-foot-long ice slide, sip cocoa and roast s’mores around and open fire— just to name a few. For more information click here.

Beaches Polar Express

This holiday-inspired event is in town for two days this month and is free to anyone members of the Beaches Museum. Santa Claus and the conductor will be present for everyone to meet. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch “The Polar Express,” enjoy sweets and other treats. Additional festivities will be available in the History Park. Click here for more information.

Deck the Chairs 

If you’re in the holiday decorating spirit, here’s your chance to show off. The Deck the Chair event hosts a themed-chair decorating contest with judges and all. The ambiance of an evening full of memories will be accompanied with cocoa, music, and lights. Click here for more information

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens ZOOLights
