In front of a crowd of 1,805, the Ospreys did not disappoint with a total of six blocks between Romelo Banks, Nesbitt, Beech and Daniels. In the end, the Ospreys won the home game against Kennesaw State 86-67 on Jan. 29.
Even though the Ospreys came into the game strong, going up by four points before half time, the Kennesaw State Owls overtook the Ospreys and won 40-46.
On the road at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tn. the UNF men's basketball team (13-9) overcame a 19-29 halftime deficit against the Bisons (10-10) with a 56 point answer in the second half.
Early in the first half the Ospreys pulled ahead to a 17-10 score, but the Lipscomb University Bisons regained the lead and won with a final score of 62-71.
In their fourth conference game of the season, the UNF women's basketball team beat the Northern Kentucky Norse with a final score of 81-79 on Jan. 22.
Men's basketball dominated Northern Kentucky University in their fourth consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference victory. Chris Davenport led the charge against NKU while Jalen Nesbitt and Beau Beech solidified the team's defense.
The University of North Florida Ospreys put up 86 points to defeat the Jacksonville University Dolphins in the A-Sun season opener on Jan. 10 at the Veterans Memorial Arena.
The UNF men's basketball team beat the Trinity Baptist Eagles 106-60. This win broke a four-game losing streak for the Ospreys and set a new school record for most non-conference Division 1 wins in a season.
The UNF Ospreys' pre-holiday schedule comes to an end with a loss to Big Ten Conference opponent, the Iowa Hawkeyes, on Monday, Dec. 22 in Iowa City, IA.
