The University of North Florida Ospreys have officially clinched home court advantage in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship with a decisive 86-71 victory over the Stetson University Hatters. With this victory, the Ospreys are the A-Sun Conference regular season champions.

In front of a packed homecoming crowd, the Ospreys (20-11, 12-2), celebrated their seniors Jalen Nesbitt and Devin Wilson before the game tipped off. The duo would go a combined 23 points on the night. Nesbitt, starting guard, scored 14 points and Wilson, guard, scoring nine points with three 3-pointers.

The Ospreys went buckets for buckets against the Hatters (9-21, 3-11) early in the first half.  Dallas Moore, UNF’s starting sophomore guard, led the charge with 21 points. The Hatters would cut the Ospreys lead to ten points in the second half in their attempted comeback. Chris Davenport, UNF’s sophomore starting forward, finished the emotionally charged night with a monster dunk in the last seconds of the game.

“If you believe and you love, and you have discipline. Those are the three keys,” UNF Head Coach Matthew Driscoll said. “If you believe, you love and have discipline, you can do whatever you want to do.”

Notable performers for the Hatters were starting forward Kentwan Smith with 15 points and starting guard Divine Myles with 14.

The Ospreys start their playoff run this Tuesday, Mar. 3 against the Stetson University Hatters in the A-Sun Championship Quarterfinals with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at the UNF Arena.
