The skate park, closed since before Christmas for safety, was reopened March 11.
After five years of rain and skating, the protective coat on UNF skate park ramps called SkateLite was cracking. This posed a safety issues to students using the park — the park was closed for renovations.
Becky Purser, Director of Recreation, was not available for comment.
