Swift earns A-Sun honors

For the second time in her career, junior Katelin Swift was honored as the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week.

Swift, a forward on the women’s soccer team, received her first weekly honor in 2006 during her freshman season. This season, she leads the Ospreys and the A-Sun in total points (17), points per game (1.7), goals (8), goals per game (0.8), and game-winning goals (4). Her 0.8 goals per game also ranks in the top 40 in the nation.

During last week’s three-game span, Swift netted four goals, including two in UNF’s A-Sun opener against USC Upstate. She also scored a goal in non-conference action against North Carolina State University and another in UNF’s second conference win versus East Tennessee State University.

“Swift is an extremely hard worker, and it is beginning to pay off for her,” UNF head coach Linda Hamilton said. “She has developed into and emerged as a leader of this team.”
