It doesn’t happen very often but the UNF men’s basketball team has won four games in a row—something they haven’t accomplished since the 2004-2005 season.
The fourth win came Wednesday night against Palm Beach Atlantic, 66-59.
Before it was over, though, the Ospreys let an 18 point lead get shattered down to 5 in the final minutes.
“We lost focus,” said Matt Sauey, the game’s leading scorer with 19 points including two dunks.
Despite the 2nd half lapse, many players finish with strong individual statistics.
UNF guard Stan Januska nearly scored a double double finishing with 12 rebounds and 7 points.
And forward Andy Diaz finished with 13 points.
The Ospreys will try to stay undefeated at home and extend their winning streak to five, when they host Kennesaw State Jan. 2 at 7 p.m.
Head coach Matt Driscoll credits the streak to the players finally starting to put trust in each other.
Note: Despite the men’s basketball recent success, JU traveled to Orlando and defeated UCF by 10 points Wednesday night.
