On Saturday the women’s and men’s basketball teams met fans at the second annual Hooptoberfest.

The entire team signed autographs and mingled with fans and families.

Women’s basketball head coach Darrick Gibbs spoke to the crowd about the upcoming season and the players introduced themselves.

Fans were called out of the stands and played games with players to win the grand prize — a UNF swag bag.

After the women, the men’s basketball team, who are defending ASUN regular season champions, came out and met the excited fans while signing memorabilia.

Men’s basketball head coach Matthew Driscoll introduced his team, and told many personal stories about the players.

Both teams open their seasons Nov. 11. The women take on FAMU at 3 p.m. in the UNF Arena. The men team will travel to Alabama to face Auburn University at 9:30 p.m.
