The UNF Arena will be home of the Florida High School Athletic Association Girls 2017 Volleyball State Championships from Nov.16-18.

“We are thrilled to have our volleyball championships take place in a venue worthy of a state championship,” FHSAA Executive Director George Tomyn said. “Our student-athletes, coaches and fans deserve the absolute best experience possible, and we are certain our partnership with UNF will provide just that.”

Athletic Director Lee Moon spoke to First Coast Varsity about bringing the event to UNF’s facilities.

“It’s something that the president [John Delaney] has talked to us about when we first got here, go out and use our facilities as a resource to students across the state of Florida,” Moon said. “It started with track obviously, and we’ve tried to bring other sports here. This is just another step in that direction.”
