The Board of Governors unanimously approved David Szymanski as the sixth president of the University of North Florida.

There was no opposition to Szymanski’s recommendation. The Board of Governors stood up and applauded Szymanski congratulating him for his new position. Szymanski then walked around thanking each board member.

“I’m really humbled for the opportunity to be the next president of the University of North Florida,” Szymanski said. “It’s exciting to be part of Jacksonville. It’s exciting to be a part of this university.”

John Delaney will continue his duties as UNF President until May 31, and Szymanski will start on June 1.
