Interfaith week brings faith-centric events to UNF campus

Oct. 29 to Nov. 2 is Interfaith Week, with this semester’s theme being “Making Magic Every Day.” Here are some fun events you can take part in.

Monday, Oct. 29 – Interfaith Week Kickoff on the Green

Join the Interfaith Center on the Green from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for breakfast and coffee, spin the wheel for a t-shirt and explain “how you make magic every day.” Special appearance by The Dome.

Tuesday, Oct. 30 – Coffee and Conversation: Speed-faithing

If you’re interested in learning a variety of worldviews from different faiths as Muslim, Christian, Pagan, Atheist, Jewish and more, there will be a round robin held at the Interfaith Center, Bldg. 2, Suite 1400 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 30 – Interfaith Week Keynote: Harry Potter and the Sacred Texts

Vanessa Zoltan, co-host of the podcast Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, breaks down for us a chapter of the books as if it were a sacred text and goes over the valuable lessons that can be learned. This event takes place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the John A. Delaney Student Union Auditorium, Bldg. 58W, Suite 2704.

Wednesday, Oct. 31 – Interfaith Storytelling at Market Days

From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., spend time at Osprey Plaza listening to stories of faith and worldviews. Refreshments will be served.

Thursday, Nov. 1 – Spiritual Practices Fair

In the John A. Delaney Student Union Ballroom, Bldg. 58W, Suite 3703, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., come explore different ways to pray, reflect, meditate, and practice spirituality with Chaplains and students from various religious traditions. There will be both facilitated and self-guided stations. Snacks will be available.
