Tracking Dorian: Wednesday classes cancelled for UNF students

Drew McDonald, Sports Editor

At 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 1, UNF announced that Wednesday classes will be canceled due to Hurricane Dorian. The hurricane is expected to be a Category 3 when it is off the coast of Jacksonville.

UNF is also encouraging students who live on campus to begin leaving if they have a safe place to travel and stay. The Osprey Cafe will continue to operate on a normal operating schedule until further notice and residential housing will remain open. In the case of worsening conditions, the University says it will “ensure that all remaining students are taken care of and moved to a safe location on campus.”

According to the University, “UNF’s Crisis Management Team will continue to monitor the situation very closely, and plans to send its next update tomorrow morning.”
