Former UNF student charged with soliciting sex from minor

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested a former UNF student on charges of soliciting sex from a minor during an undercover sting operation, according to police.

Abdulrahem Mohamd Alkhaedei, 25, was one of the 21 men arrested in connection with the Operation Watchdog sting. Officers went undercover on the internet pretending to be teenagers ranging from 13 to 14 years old.

Officers arrested Alkhaedei, who was previously enrolled in UNF’s English Language Program, on May 5, and his bond is set at over $90,000. His felony charges include traveling to meet after using a computer to solicit a child, using a computer to solicit a child and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

18 of the men were arrested after coming to Jacksonville thinking they were meeting the underaged teens they’d met online for sex. The people arrested came from both Florida and Georgia, and their ages range from 21-61 .

Alkhaedei is still in jail and is expected to be arraigned in court on May 25.
