Feb. 6 – Burglary (Lot 18) – After a student presented a stolen parking decal to contest parking citations, the owner of the decal reported it missing from her Jeep.

UPD verified with Parking Services that it was indeed stolen.

The suspect claimed he bought the permit from a student who was dropping out.

Feb. 9 – Grand Theft (Building T) – An Osprey Cove resident reported getting into a verbal dispute with his two roommates over a girl he brought to the dorm; he was then moved to a safe room by housing officials.
When the victim returned the next morning to move his belongings, he found his surfboard, skim board and bag missing from his property.

The victim or one or both of his roommates were responsible, according to the report.

UPD responded to a report of two missing computers valued at more than $3,000.

The discovery was made during an inventory of computers assigned to that building.

Feb. 11 – Burglary (Building 14) –
UPD was dispatched to Chartwells in reference to a burglary incident. Between the hours of 5:15 p.m. Feb. 10 and 7:50 a.m. the next day, an unsuccessful attempt was made to pry open the safe.

The incident was reported after the director noticed the roll down gate damaged.

Feb. 11 – Petty Theft (Lot 10) – Parking Services contacted UPD in reference to an altered fall parking permit that was made to look like an annual permit.

The suspect placed the altered decal on his dash and covered the fall designation with a poker chip.

The student was issued a notice to appear for theft of services.

Feb. 13 – Criminal Mischief (Building Y) –
A person egged two dorm rooms in Osprey Landing.

One resident stated she heard loud noises outside her dorm early in the morning but did not look to see what was going on.

Feb. 13 – Criminal Mischief (Lot 11) –
UPD was dispatched to a criminal mischief call after the victim found her car was keyed.

She stated she had no idea who would have made the scratch and that she had no problems with any other residents.
