Barnes, Saathoff to win
John Barnes is slated to enter his second-term as student body president with Mike Saathoff as student body vice president due to the unique circumstance of presidential candidates running unopposed during the Executive Branch elections.
Students voted in the annual Student Government General Elections March 10 and 11. While they voted, Barnes and Saathoff greeted students in the designated campus campaigning zones.
“We thank our students for their support,” Barnes said. “I promise not to let them down.”
In his final term, Barnes promised to fight increasing tuition 15 percent, regulating amplified sound on campus, and supporting increased food service options.
The results of the elections will be official at 7 p.m. March 12. They will be ratified at a Senate meeting March 23 if there are no constitutional concerns.
