Students filled the Student Union Aug. 23 to purchase tickets for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ eight regular season home games.
Student Body Director of Athletics and Wellness Anthony Hendricks said all 3,200 tickets were sold out by 1:30 p.m., which was 30 minutes before the sales were set to end.
Students were able to purchase two tickets to each game for $20 a piece for seats located in Section 228 at the Everbank Field, according to UNF’s Osprey Update.
Quentin Davy, a UNF finance graduate student, said he took off work to show up and waited in line for more than two hours.
Davy said he would love for Student Government to sell tickets every year and help the Jaguars build a relationship with their fans.
Natalie Victor, a UNF deaf education junior, said although the wait was long, it was worth it.
“It’s a good deal. I’m saving about $40,” Victor said.
Each ticket purchase gave the buyer a chance to win a T-shirt or a game-day meal voucher.
Hendricks said the high level of interest in the tickets, may prompt further sales within the next few weeks. And he said the Jaguars are looking to do another promotion with UNF in the near future.
