Osprey Idol show attracts crowd of 400 attendees during Week of Welcome events

The African American Student Union hosted the annual Osprey Idol talent show as part of the Week of Welcome festivities Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom with over 400 students in attendance.

The hosts for the event were Jessica Davis, the director of AASU and Stanford Taylor, AASU’s chief of staff. The judges were Student Body Vice President Mike Saathoff, Michelle Amato, a jazz vocal instructor at UNF, and Monique May, previous homecoming coordinator.

Alumna Tiffany Wright, who performed with the Young Vessels of God dance group, left the event with first place, and junior electronic media major Tymara Simmons took home second place.
