After 10 years in the role, Dean Larry Daniel of the College of Education and Human Resources is resigning to return to a teaching position.

Daniel said he is going to teach educational leadership in the Doctor of Education program. He is also going to continue his role as the Interim Director for the Center of Urban Education and Policy.

“I am very much looking forward to this transition,” Daniel said. “There’s times in a career where you need a gearshift and this is one of them.”

Earle Campbell Traynham, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, said Daniel has brought the college through many re-accreditation checks, kept the College of Education up to the Department of Education’s federal standards and worked with the Jacksonville School Board and Jacksonville Public Education Fund.

Traynham said Daniel has done a great job of positioning our college to serve the needs of employers by making sure students get the training they need.

Traynham said he will miss Daniel’s experience, knowledge, and reliability.
