Attorney General steps down
Attorney General Paige Lehman formally announced that she would be stepping down from her position this semester to pursue a position with the United Nations in New York. She has been with SG for over four years, beginning as a Senator.
Jan. 13 will be her last day.
The job of the Attorney General is to look over the Legislation, bills and changes to the Student Government Constitution.
Candidates for the position are all Activities and Services Fee-paying students, not just Senators or Judicial Branch members.
“There is no election for the Attorney General,” said Director of Communications Ryan Traher. “Candidates will be voted on during a Senate meeting.”
Traher said the process is occurring this week for selecting candidates.
Traher said he is hopeful that a candidate will be selected to fill the position by Jan. 17.
Traher said Lehman will still be looking over legislation until she leaves, but there is no time-sensitive information until a new Attorney General is in office.
