Festival of Lights
What: The Student Union will be sponsoring a Festival of Lights in celebration of the UNF community. The event will feature free drinks, food and entertainment as well as a cash bar.

Cummer Family Foundation Chamber Music Series
What: Pianist Robert Satterlee will perform in place of Gilead Mishory in the Chamber Music Series presented by The Cummer Family Foundation.

HIV & LGBTQ JASMYN Youth Panel
What: The LGBT Resource Center is sponsoring an event featuring youth panelists from JASMYN, which is a non-profit youth organization specializing in safe-spaces, support leadership and HIV prevention. The panel will focus on how HIV/AIDS affects African American and LGBTQ youth in honor of World AIDS Day (Dec. 1). Lunch will be provided.

Living Out Loud
What: A student-led conversation about feminism as a social movement will be held as part of the LGBT Resource Center’s Living Out Loud series. Free dinner will be provided to those in attendance. HIV testing will be provided by JASMYN.

Jazz Combos
What: UNF’s Jazz Combos will perform under the direction of coordinator Lynne Arriale.

i-Dinner
What: The Interfaith Center is sponsoring a family-style dinner event to encourage students from different countries, cultures and religious or non-religious identities to meet. The event will include free food and activities such as a trivia game.

Call of Duty Tournament
What: A Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare tournament will be held in UNF’s Game Room. The event will include food, drinks and prizes.

Piano Play-Off
What: Dr. Erin K. Bennett and Dr. Gary Smart’s piano students will participate in UNF’s annual Piano Play-Off Competition. The audience will vote for their favorite performer and the winner will perform at UNF’s Pianopalooza at Friday Musicale in March.

Student Chamber
What: UNF piano students will perform in concert under the direction of Dr. Erin K. Bennett and Dr. Gary Smart.

Annual Feast
What: UNF’s ninth annual Feast of Carols will feature CBS 47 and FOX 30’s Mike Buresh as Master of Ceremonies and choral ensembles from UNF, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, Clay County High School and First Coast High School. Pictures with Santa Claus can be taken at the event.
When: Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. Pictures with Santa start at 3 p.m.

Cost: Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door for general admission. Tickets can be purchased from Ticket Return. Senior citizens 55 and older may purchase tickets for $7 from the UNF Ticket Box Office Monday through Friday by calling (904) 620-2878. Students are admitted free with ID.
What: Presale tickets for comedian Lewis Black’s “The Rant is Due: Part Deux” March 12 show will be available for purchase.
When: Ticket presale for the show starts Dec. 1 for students, faculty and staff. General public ticket sales begin Dec. 15.

Choral Ensembles Auditions
What: The UNF Chorale, Osprey Men’s Chorus and Osprey Women’s Chorus will be holding auditions. Faculty, staff and students are welcome. Auditions are ten minutes each.

Vagina Monologues
What: Students and faculty who would like to audition for “The Vagina Monologues” must record a one-minute audition video of a script reading and submit it to womenct2@unf.edu .
Where: An audition application and script can be downloaded from the V-Day website.
When: Applications will be accepted until the show is fully cast.
School of Computing Symposium
What: UNF’s School of Computing will sponsor a symposium showcasing course, thesis and faculty research projects. During the event, attendants will be able to cast votes for six of their favorite projects to select symposium prize winners. A full event schedule can be seen on the event website. Light refreshments will be provided.
When: Dec. 5, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

What: Nominations for UNF’s 2015 Faculty Awards are open. Nominations may be submitted online through the online nomination form, by emailing nominations to facassn1@unf.edu or by delivering a handwritten or printed nomination form to the UNF Faculty Association Office.
Nominations are being accepted for:
Distinguished Professor Award
Outstanding Faculty Scholarship awards
Outstanding Faculty Service awards
Outstanding Faculty Community Engaged Scholarship Award.
Guidelines for each award can be found on the UNF Faculty Association website.
Who: Students, alumni, faculty, staff and administrators are welcome to nominate faculty members for the awards.
When: Nominations are open until Jan. 16, 5 p.m.
Where: Nominations can be delivered to the UNF Faculty Association Office in Osprey Commons (Bldg. 16, room 3100).
