How UNF stacks up

A quick look at the various parking and transit options at some Florida universities gives a side-by-side comparison of the factors most important to students.

UNF

Student enrollment: 16,084.
Parking spaces: More than 8,000.
Permit prices: Annual prices can range from $95 for a discount pass and $160 for a premium pass to $205 for housing permits and $405 for reserved spots.
Mass transit system: Osprey Connector, runs 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday.
Average wait time for transit: 17 minutes.
Transportation fee: $3.85 per credit hour.
Other services: UPD Safety Escort.

FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

Student enrollment: More than 42,000 worldwide, approximately 26,000 on the core of campus.
Parking spaces: Approximately 16,000.
Permit prices: Included in transportation fees, $250 annually for faculty and staff.
Mass transit system: Seminole Express, runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Average wait time for transit: 20 minutes.
Transportation fee: $7.40 per credit hour.
Other services: Night ‘Nole, operates 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday; S.A.F.E. Connection – FSU PD escort for any person on campus.

UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA

Student enrollment: 52,000.
Parking spaces: More than 19,000.
Permit prices: $122 for annual student decals. Other prices range from $132 for annual staff commuter to $924 for annual gated reserved spaces.
Mass transit system: Gainesville Regional Transit System, most routes run from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., but a select few stay running until 2 a.m.
Average wait time for transit: 22 minutes.
Transportation fee: $6.11 per credit hour.
Other services: Later Gator bus route serves 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday to Saturday; SNAP – Student Night-time Auxiliary Patrol; free campus taxi; UF green ride – a Web-based application for people to find carpooling options.
