Laura Erdelyi, a Senior Public Relations student, was killed in a car accident Sunday morning.

According to Erdelyi’s LinkedIn, she was slated to graduate in December of 2016 and also worked as a fitness instructor at area YMCAs.

Spinnaker spoke with Lori Leake, a Massage Therapist at the Yates YMCA, who knew Erdelyi from work.

“She was always so friendly, always excited and full of energy,” she said. Leake went on to say how sad the news was.

According to police, Erdelyi was travelling on Roosevelt boulevard when a red Chevy Suburban hit her vehicle. Erdelyi’s Honda Civic was upside down and pinned against a cement light pole. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spinnaker will continue to follow this story as information becomes available.

Hi I do not know this family but my prayers goes out to them, that the Lord keep them in perfect peace in a time such as this. And we need to ask the proper authorities to make Roosevelt Boulevard a safer Road for traveling. Because I travel this road many times and I see many accidents on this road maybe they should allow police officers are red light cameras to slow the people down on Roosevelt Boulevard something needs to be done because our love once travel this road everyday. Be blessed an be safe IJN
