In another move to restructure the UNF Athletics Department, Athletic Director Lee Moon has promoted Ervin Lewis from associate athletic director to senior associate athletic director.
“I’ve given Ervin more responsibility,” Moon said. “It’s a better utilization of out staff.”
Lewis enters his second year with UNF and is in charge of all of UNF’s athletic facilities. That includes scheduling and making sure the facilities stay maintained. Also, he is in charge of all athletic events for the university, which includes game day operations.
Moon plans for Lewis to take control of all of the men’s sports at UNF. The promotion includes handling the facilities and operations of the men’s sports and also handling the budgets.
With Lewis taking over the day to day operation of the men’s athletic programs at UNF, Moon is taking over for the women’s side of things.
“We’re trying to upgrade what we do with women’s sports, too,” Moon said.
The change for the athletics department comes along with the recent promotion of Mark VanAlstyne to assistant athletic director/director of track and field.
