First time I've had a whole show called for rain. Called for lightning actually. First time. Sorry @UofNorthFlorida

By all indication, Rodney Atkins was willing to play in the rain, but lightning prevented him.
Prevalent thunder and lightning stopped Atkins early in his performance, with members of S.A.F.E security pulling the the plug on the headliner of Osprey Productions’ “Welcome to the Nest” festival.
Atkins’ set was initially delayed by rain then the audience evacuated from Coxwell Amphitheater. They were told to wait in or outside the Student Union. About five minutes later, when the lightning wouldn’t relent, the show was called off.
The 40 minute set of UNF student Sam Herb was only interrupted once for about five minutes due to rain. Around 8:15 p.m, students were told to to wait near the Student Union food court before Herb continued.
Spinnaker has reached out to Osprey Productions for further comment and will provide an update as soon as possible as to whether or not the show will be rescheduled.
