UNF currently in second place in VS PINK Campus Showdown

Correction: A previous version os this article stated that UNF trails the University of Texas, which has over 51,000 students. UNF actually trails the University of Texas, San Antonio, which has over 28,000 students.

The University of North Florida currently holds the no. 2 spot in the nation in Victoria Secret’s (VS) PINK Campus Showdown competition. And students are going nuts.

98 schools are a part of the 8-day long competition and the winning school will win an epic party complete with Victoria Secret models and big-name artists such as Drake.

With currently 62,038 total points, UNF trails the University of Texas, San Antonio (UTSA) by roughly 20,000 points for the no. 1 spot. UTSA has a student population over 28,000; UNF’s less than 20,000.

UNF has survived three rounds so far and needs to hold the overall no. 2 spot to compete in the final championship, according to @PINKUNF on Twitter.

To compete in the current “Snap Spirit” round UNF students need to follow @VSPINK on Snapchat and screenshot the picture of UNF’s flag. UNF is currently in the 18th spot with 551 points in the current Snap Spirit round however, students still have time to screenshot until Aug. 30 at 12 p.m.

This leaves roughly 19 hours left in the competition for students and anyone else to screenshot UNF on VS PINK’s Snapchat.

So how was such a little university able to compete with the “big guys,” you ask? The answer is simple. Osprey pride.
