The North Florida swim team (1-3 overall, 0-3 conf) faced off against three teams including two opponents that were postponed earlier in the season.
The Ospreys lost to UNC Asheville and Gardner Webb University but knotted their first win of the season against Florida Atlantic by a score of 153-109.
Event winners of the day for the Ospreys included sophomore Kaleigh Newcomb in the 100m Backstroke (59.19,), and freshmen Amber Pearce in the 50 freestyle (24.58) and 100 freestyle (53.12), which was a new personal best.
Additionally, the Ospreys won 2nd in the 400 freestyle relay (3:38.29) and 200 medley relay (1:50.28). Additionally, Emily Draskovich earned 2nd place in the 200 butterfly (2:08.09) and 3rd in the 100 fly (59.64.)
Other notable finishes included Newcomb placing 3rd in the 200 backstroke (2:09.67), Nicole Nesto’s 4th place time in the 50 freestyle (25.38), and Francesca Vandersluis who placed 4th in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.63).
The final meet results included UNF losing to UNC Asheville 146-116 and Gardner Webb 162-100, North Florida beating FAU 153-109, and both UNCA and GWU both burying the Owls by scores of 160-101.5 and 193.5-68.5, respectively.
The Ospreys will travel next to FIU to clash in a tri-meet with the Golden Panthers and the Miami Hurricanes on Nov. 5.
