Donald Trump proved pollsters and pundits wrong as he captured the delegates he needed to become the 45th president of the United States of America.

At 2:30 a.m., the Associated Press announced Trump won Wisconsin, granting him the necessary electoral votes to win the presidential election.

Trump dominated the night, taking key swing states like Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Trump won Florida by more than 129,000 votes, but the state went back and forth between Democrat and Republican control for hours, leaving students on edge. Duval County went Republican — as it has since 1976 — with a final tally of 209,168-203,113.

In his first 100 days, Trump stated he will repeal everything from the past eight years of the Obama administration. In a campaign speech at Gettysburg, Penn. Trump laid out his plan, calling it a “contract between Donald J. Trump and the American people.”

Trump wants to rid Washington of corrupt politicians. He said he would propose a constitutional amendment to limit congressional term limits and enact a hiring freeze on all federal employees, to “drain the swamp.”

As president, Trump wants to reform America’s trade practices. He wants to renegotiate NAFTA and withdraw from the Trans-Pacific Trade Partnership.

He wants to work with Congress to place tariffs on companies that move overseas in an attempt to keep more jobs and products in the United States.

Another change Americans can expect from Trump is revisions to immigration policy. He plans to end the Syrian refugee program and deport more than two million illegal immigrants. He plans to work with Congress on his campaign promise of building a wall on the Mexican border.

In regards to domestic policy, we can anticipate a repeal of Obama’s Affordable Care Act. Trump says he will replace it with health savings accounts and interstate insurance marketing.

To complete his first 100 days in office, Trump says he will enact major tax cuts. He claims he will increase our national security by increasing spending on the military.

Other things to look forward to under a Trump presidency are a new Supreme Court justice, to replace the late Antonin Scalia, elimination of Common Core, and a renegotiation of the Iran nuclear deal.

Under Trump, Americans can expect a drastic change in the direction of the country.
