Jennifer Louissaint, sister of missing UNF student George Louissaint Jr., created a GoFundMe page to raise money for a reward for credible information that leads to finding her brother.
The family have reached $4,152 of their $5,000 goal in two days. The money was raised by 86 donors, many of which offer kind words and prayers for the family.
“I’m literally torn and completely loss for words,” wrote Jennifer Louissaint on the page. “It’s really hard for me mentally to keep it together but I’m trying to stay strong for my family.”
George Louissaint was reported missing at 2 a.m. on Sunday Feb. 12 at the The Flats. An extensive three-day search coordinated by UNFPD and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office did not find Louissaint.
The Louissaint family came to Jacksonville shortly after George’s disappearance to help with search efforts, passing out 2,000 flyers. Jennifer said that stress and heartbreak is sometimes “overbearing”, but support from loved ones is helping them persevere. Jennifer Louissaint said that her family will the money solely to aid attempts to find George.
“Please rest assured that no money will go to a family member. Every dollar will go towards additional resources to bring George Louissaint Jr. home safely,” Louissaint wrote.
