The Philadelphia Phillies selected junior outfielder Yahir Gurrola in the 27th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

This is the third time an Osprey has been drafted by the Phillies.

Gurrola has until the start of the fall of 2017 to decide whether to play with the organization or stay at UNF.

The Midland College transfer made the ASUN All-Conference First Team in his first year at UNF. Gurrola is in the top two of the conference with doubles, triples, runs, RBIs and total bases.

With his selection, at least one Osprey has been selected in the draft overall for five consecutive years.
