In honor of National HIV Testing Day, the UNF LGBT Resource Center and the Department of Health Promotion is teaming up to offer students free HIV testing on June 27.

The testing comes days after a study came out saying that Jacksonville has the third highest HIV/AIDS rates in the country. Jacksonville is behind Miami and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2014, 6,553 people were diagnosed with HIV in Jacksonville, according to AIDSVu.

In addition to HIV testing, the LGBT Resource Center will also be giving away limited free pregnancy and syphilis tests. They will be available on a first come, first served basis.

The LGBT Resource Center plans on giving away free condoms, lubricant, buttons and other prizes for students who come and get tested and participate in sex-ed trivia. The testing will happen from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Student Union, building 58E, room 1111 inside of the LGBT Resource Center.
