UNF’s Black Student Union has teamed up with local businesses for the Back 2 School Supply Drive.

BSU’s President Markale Ford saw the school drive as an opportunity for the club to give back to the community.

“We decided that we needed to do a community service type of thing. This is [just] the start of our community service,” Ford said. “After this we hope to do more things to help out the community and to get involved.”

Bailey’s Health & Fitness, Beach Boulevard Flea Market, Jax4Kids, Money Pages and Times-Union Media are also taking part in the school drive.

Some recommended supplies to bring are pencils, pens, notebook, calculators, glue sticks and scissors. However, no matter what you bring, all contributions are accepted.

Donations can be dropped off in the Student Alliance for Inclusion and Diversity (S.A.I.D) lounge, Student Union, Bldg. 58E, room 1001 until Aug. 4.
