UNF’s Board of Trustees appoints new member
October 3, 2017
Florida Governor Rick Scott appointed Thomas Bryan to the UNF Board of Trustees.
Bryan will be replacing BoT Chair Joy Korman and takes his position January 6, 2018, just in time to help with the search for UNF’s next president.
This is Bryan’s second time holding a position on a Board of Trustees after serving with FSCJ’s board. He’s also a partner in domestic for-profit organization Terra Capital Holdings, Inc.
Current BoT Chair Korman wrote about the responsibilities of the board in the upcoming presidential search on the UNF site.
“The Board of Trustees’ hope is to select a final candidate in a time frame that would allow the Board to submit the president-elect’s candidacy to the Board of Governors for confirmation at its March 2018 meeting,” wrote Korman.
Aside from helping the university find a new president, the BoT meets to plan new expansions and renovations on campus. Recently, they revealed plans for a new university center and an expansion of the arena.
