November 1, 2017
North Florida men’s cross country team earned the runner-up spot at the ASUN Championship Oct. 28.
Junior Nick Morken, senior Tyler Stahl and sophomore Noah Perkins finished in the top six with second, third and sixth place respectively for the 8k. With those finishes, the trio set new personal records for themselves.
Along with individual records, the trio was selected for the first team All-ASUN. Teammates Flynn Timm, a junior, and Rob Leverone, a sophomore, earned second team All-ASUN.
Timm finished 11th with a time of 25:05 for a personal record while Leverone finished 12th in the championship.
Cross country head coach Jeff Pigg described the strength of the field in the championship meet.
“It was a very hard-fought battle with Lipscomb,” Pigg said. “I thought we competed very well but just missed out by a little. Nick led the way with an outstanding performance and personal best.”
North Florida men’s cross country will compete at the NCAA South Regional meet in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Nov.10.
