UNF President John Delaney sends out email to students regarding yesterday’s shooting in Broward County.

UNF President John Delaney sent out a special Osprey Update this afternoon to students regarding the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High shooting yesterday afternoon.

Delaney states that besides Duval County, most UNF students come from Broward County, the same county that the shooting took place.

“My youngest son was at Episcopal High School when a fired teacher came onto the school’s campus and killed the Headmistress,” stated Delaney. “We learned firsthand how horrible these actions are for the victims as well as the families and friends of the victims. We also learned that such trauma extends to the larger community.”

Delaney asks for students, faculty, and staff to extend support for one another during this time. Delaney also refers to the Counseling Center for anyone who needs to talk. The center can be contacted at (904) 620-2602.
