YouTube star Lilly Singh’s late-night talk show “A Little Late with Lilly” premiered on Monday night, making her the first bisexual woman of color to host a late-night talk show on a major network.

Even though it replaced “Last Call with Carson Daly” in NBC’s nightly lineup, the show was first streamed, fittingly, on the “A Little Late with Lilly” YouTube channel at 10 p.m.

Singh immediately sets herself apart from other hosts in an opening skit where a boardroom of executives tries to model her after the typical late-night host: a white man in a grey suit monologuing about politics. She launches into an explosive rap about her desire to break the mold, although simply being a bisexual woman of color in an industry dominated by straight white men is enough to make her stand out.

She pokes fun at the attention in her monologue, saying “the media has mentioned that I’m a bisexual woman of color so much that I feel like I should just change the name” while an edited version of the show logo, “A Little Late with Bisexual Woman of Color”, appears onscreen.

Singh isn’t a stranger to the spotlight, however. She began posting to her YouTube channel “||Superwoman||” in 2010 and has since amassed nearly 15 million subscribers and 3.1 billion views across her videos. She can now add late-night host to her list of accomplishments, which includes two world tours and a bestselling book.
