Osprey basketball teams up with ESPN3

Starting January 2015, home games of UNF men's and women's basketball will be streaming from ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN app. Led by communications professor Dr. Deeley, student volunteers will make up the production team, which wishes to expand coverage to other varsity sports and away games.

UNF center beats odds: Romelo Banks’ path to D-I starter

When Romelo Banks was 13 years old, he would listen to his mom tell him to keep playing basketball and never give up on his dreams. Banks’ mother passed away shortly after she spoke those words to him, but Banks still follows that advice and uses it as inspiration to this day. Six years later, he has followed her instruction and plays center for the University of North Florida’s men’s basketball team.

UNF junior Emelie Alpe, hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, recently broke the university’s lowest round score record for women’s golf. Although there are a few language barriers, her coach makes note of her focus and Alpe herself is always looking to improve at the game she loves.
