Donald Trump won 49 percent of the votes in Florida, earning him 29 electoral votes in the race to become the President of the United States, according to the Associated Press.
Trump currently holds a 197-131 lead over Clinton as both candidates race to the magic number needed to clinch the White House, 270.
Since 1976, Florida’s gone Democrat four times and Republican six. Duval County, which has gone red in every election since 1976, continued its streak as Trump earned nearly 6,000 more votes than Clinton.
The last five candidates to win Florida have gone on to win the election.
