Candles and flowers were passed out to everyone who attended Myriam Lahcen’s memorial vigil on April 15.

Myriam Lahcen was a Moroccan exchange student who died March 16 in a car crash in Mexico over Spring break.

The vigil was organized by a combination of organizations at UNF — the International Student Association and the InterFaith center.

Students gathered at 8.30 p.m. by the Gandhi statue. Friends of Lahcen prayed and read from the Quran. None of those attending wished to be interviewed or appear on camera.
