The Lufrano Gallery hosted the opening reception for the Senior Art Exhibition on April 3.
The exhibit features the artwork of 38 students. Pieces range from painting/drawing/printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and photography.
The Lufrano Gallery has hosted the exhibit the past two years, said Amara McMann, coordinator of the UNF art galleries.
McMann, who organized the event, said the works of art aren’t juried when they’re chosen for the exhibit. The students choose which piece of work they want in the show.
Many of the pieces are for sale, with prices and information about the pieces available at the door.
David Main, whose sculpture towers in the middle of the exhibit, said the event showcases what the seniors have been doing.
“The only reason that we do that is so that us as students can sort of get in the groove of figuring out how this all works and sort of understanding how to set up your show and get people to come to your show,” said Main.
“If my professors didn’t give me that opportunity I would just be lost,” said Main.
The exhibit will be open until May 2 and is free.
