UPDATE — 9/17/14 at 2:27 p.m.
Twenty students chowed down in a burrito eating contest sponsored by Moe’s Southwest Grill today at UNF’s Market Day.
Vicki Asbury, general manager at the Moe’s Southwest Grill Tinseltown location said, “Rice, brown beans, beef and cheese” were in the burritos, “and it’s our normal size burrito, so it’s not cheap or small.”
There were four waves of five students. The first wave was at noon, then 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
First prize per round is $20 in Moe’s Bucks, second place is a free burrito voucher; third, fourth and fifth place, she said, at least get a free burrito.
Asbury said the lucky contestants signed up for the competition several weeks ago at a previous Market Day.
