YMCA closes, sending rock climbers searching
The UNF Rock Climbing Club will have to start looking for another place to practice, as the South Metro Family YMCA on Philips Highway, which is the only public rock climbing gym is Jacksonville, closes when it lease ends.
The lease officially expires April 14, but the rock portion of the YMCA gym will remain open with a limited schedule until July.
However, they might be able to climb closer to UNF because a few rock climbers are looking to lease property for their own rock climbing gym near campus.
