UPDATE – 5/19/15 at 9:45 a.m.

JSO has released new information on the triple shooting at The District on May 18.

The deceased male has been identified as Bryant Jerald Collier, a 25-year-old male. He was one of two suspects in the home invasion robbery.

A second suspect was shot, and he is currently being treated at a local hospital.

The victim of the home invasion was also shot. He is also being treated at a local hospital.

The identities of the second suspect and the victim are not yet known. The investigation is still active and ongoing.

A shooting at The District on Kernan apartment complex this morning has left one person dead and two people in critical condition.

JSO does not know if anyone involved in the shooting is a UNF student.

According to an email from The District management to its residents, the shooting was part of an attempted robbery. The incident reportedly involved non-residents.

At around 8:40 a.m., JSO responded to the scene where officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The apartment, which Sgt. Michael Paul from JSO said he believes is building 21, belongs to two FSCJ students. However, no one knows if those students were involved in the shooting as JSO has been unable to get in contact with them.

Another victim, also male, drove himself to 121 Financial Credit Union on the corner of Beach Boulevard and Kernan Boulevard for help. He was then transported to UF Health.

Another victim drove himself to UF Health. He is also in critical condition.

JSO has not been in contact with either victim and does not know the identity of the shooter at this time.

Spinnaker will update when more information becomes available.
