Tesh Hanson, a redshirt junior, has been outstanding for the Ospreys during her first season. The soft-spoken guard is calm and collected as she dominates the court, like she was born to play ball.
Due to her superb play, the guard earned the ASUN Player of the Week award and the ASUN Newcomer of the Week accolade two weeks in a row during November.
Even with this being her first season playing collegiate basketball in three years, she is outshining many of her opponents.
This is her first season as an Osprey. Hanson has scored in the double digits 10 times this season and averages 11.4 points per game.
Head Coach Darrick Gibbs spoke on Hanson’s play.
“She wasn’t here last year so adding that element [has helped],” said Gibbs. “When she’s on the court, she’s a tough matchup because she can score inside and out.”
When asked about her attitude before a game, Hanson said she is pretty nervous and anxious.
Hanson is shooting 60.7 percent from the free throw line, and grabs a team high 7.3 rebounds per game.
“She’s been unbelievable all year, and she’s going to continue to get better as she gets more comfortable,” said Gibbs. “We’re excited about her progressing forward and what she’s going to be able to bring.”
