(Updated 12:00 pm Jan. 19, to correct potentially confusing wording.)
UNFPD arrested the man who allegedly inappropriately touched a student in November outside of the library, according to an Osprey Update.
UNFPD identified the man as 45-year-old Eyad H. Tawil, who was charged with battery and was booked into the Duval County Jail Jan. 18.
He was released on bond later on Jan. 18 for $7,503, according to JSO.
In November, Tawil posted an ad on Craiglist posing as a single dad looking for a babysitter. A student responded to the ad and met with Tawil outside of the Thomas G. Carpenter library on Nov. 9. The student got into Tawil’s car so that they could talk “privately.”
After asking about pay, Tawil told the student he would pay her $1,700 but that he also needed a “friend.” He proceeded to touch her crotch area and later her breast over her clothing according to the police report.
Tawil has been banned from UNF’s campus by UNFPD since Nov. 14.

I looked up Eyad Tawil record and this man is innocent. He has no convictions and there’s no record of arrest. His picture and article should be removed. These articles should be deleted it’s not appropriate to put a innocent person out there. I don’t understand why we have so much hate in this world. Out of respect for this man and his family this should be deleted. This kind of articles causes this person to be labeled something he is not. And causes pain for the family that they do not have to endure. We live in a society where people Google each other for fun. Please be considerate and erase all articles about this man. Thank you.
