World Fest Village: Around the world in 15 minutes

The International Center hosted the World Fest Village event which featured food from local international-themed restaurants to the sounds of  international music.

The event is part of the Center’s International Education Week and has been happening for seven years.

“This is our big anchor event,” Ruth Lopez, senior director of the International Center, said.

They had five different food venders at the event, including the ever recognizable Delish Kabobs.

Available food included:

  • Steak, Chicken, and Vegetable Kabobs with special Cilantro sauce from Delish Kabobs
  • Crab Rangoon and Coconut Shrimp from Blue Bamboo
  • Italian Ice (Mango, Blue Raspberry, Strawberry, Cotton Candy, and Sugar Free Dragon Fruit) from Rita’s
  • Macaroons (coconut, vanilla, and biscoff)
  • Baklava from Taziki’s

Many students flocked to the event and enjoyed the international flavors that were brought to campus.

“This was fantastic. I love all the food. I love the international appeal of the event,” James Cichewicz, a junior business finance major, said

One complaint that he did have was that there were not enough vegetarian options.

Some students were there for the food, but free food is always the way to go when wanting college students to attend events.

“Free food. Who doesn’t like that?” Ryan Tisdale, a freshman nursing major said.
