Parkland students coming to UNF

Hannah Lee, Editor-in-Chief

On Friday, July 27, several students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High are planning to come to Jacksonville as part of the March For Our Lives bus tour. The stop in Jacksonville will include two major events: a festival in downtown Jacksonville and a town hall discussion at UNF.

The festival, taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be focused on registering people to vote. Local bands such as Mama Blue, Peyton Lescher and Cowford Town Band will be playing as well. The event will take place at the Jacksonville Landing.

The town hall discussion at UNF will take place in the John Delaney Student Union. It will feature topics on gun violence and gun safety. Student activists from Parkland will be leading the discussion. It is free to attend; however, the group is asking for people to RSVP on their Facebook event. The discussions will start at 6:30 p.m. and will end around 8 p.m.
