Michael upgrades to a Category 1 Hurricane

Tropical Storm Michael upgraded to a Category 1 Hurricane Monday morning, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Hurricane Michael will make landfall on Wednesday.

A hurricane watch is in effect for the Florida border on the west coast. This means that the west Florida coast should be aware that hurricane conditions are on the way and impact of these conditions will be within 48 hours.

According to the NHC, Michael will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico Tuesday and is expected to make landfall over the Florida Panhandle or the Florida Big Bend area on Wednesday.
